Only Preferred EAP

We are the region’s only Employee Assistance Program that is hospital-based, staff model and EAP-dedicated.

Hospital-Based
Preferred EAP
is a division of Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network meaning we have access to the support and resources of the area’s premier health care system.  And because of this connection, we are the only EAP that can provide ready access to psychiatrists.
Staff Model
All services are provided by our staff working from our offices.  This means that a single telephone call is all that’s needed to initiate service and arrange appointments.  It also means that people in crisis will be offered an appointment within 24-hours of contacting us, almost always on the same day.
EAP-Dedicated
At Preferred EAP employee assistance counseling is all we do.  This means we can focus full-time on helping your employees find and implement practical and timely solutions to the problems that bring them to us.  It also means that we understand and appreciate the performance and productivity concerns of the organizations that sponsor our services.

New 'Depression Scale' Tool
The Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression (CESD) Scale questionnaire was developed in the 1970’s to detect clinical depression. It asks you to report the frequency with which each of twenty events was experienced during the previous week. On this scale (see below), circle the number next to each item that best reflects how frequently you experienced that event in the past seven days.
