Dealing with Conflict

Conflict is a normal part of life and a natural occurrence in interpersonal relationships. So when you find yourself in conflict what do you do? I know what I used to do – run the other way! In today’s face book world we can unfriend someone with a simple click on our keyboard.

For most of us conflict is uncomfortable and we have not learned the skills for dealing with conflict in a positive manner. If that resonates with you, let me assure you that you are not alone.

Join us on April 23rd for our presentation of Dealing with Conflict and you will have an opportunity to examine the sources of conflict and the behavioral characteristics that intensify or prolong conflict. Because people have different ways of dealing with conflict situations, a group exercise will allow participants to experience the various styles of conflict management and resolution.

Finding resolution means finding what we can agree on or finding our common ground. The presentation will address how common ground is accomplished through effective communication and effective listening along with exploring assertiveness skills.

When conflict emerges in the workplace it has the potential of interfering with productivity and creating morale problems. The presentation will give you the skills to play a positive role in conflict resolution in your workplace and your personal life.
