Our Personal and Professional Development Workshops are open to all individuals who are eligible for Preferred EAP services.

Effective Communication & Listening

This workshop will help you increase your effectiveness in sending and receiving information. You’ll learn the skill of ‘Reflective Listening’, and we’ll review the types of responses and assumptions that inhibit good communication. We’ll also explore a variety of factors that impact communication; including styles, gender, non-verbals, workplace issues, and electronic communication. The more you understand the vital elements related to communication, the more confident and effective you’ll be in your communication exchanges.

  • Understand the essential parts of communication.
  • Learn the skill of ‘Reflective Listening’

Civility & Respect in the Workplace

An increasing number of people feel that the workplace has become less civil and less respectful. Disrespectful workplaces can escalate into situations of harassment, bullying, and aggression if left unaddressed. This workshop will explore some of the causes of incivility, what incivility looks like, and how to identify and address it. We’ll focus on ways to manage incivility in our work relationships, our situational encounters, and in ourselves.

  • Understand the new focus on civility, and why it’s the new focus
  • Explore the various causes of incivility
  • Learn ow to create respect and civility in your workplace
  • Learn about ‘bystander intervention’

Stress Management

Stress is a normal part of life. It motivates and energizes us to tackle life’s daily challenges. However, stress without recovery time can often result in us becoming overwhelmed and “burned out”.

Managing stress involves finding a balance between energy output and energy input. In this workshop, we’ll explore ways to increase balance in your life by weaving restorative activities into your day and developing positive self-care habits.
